August 18-20, 2026, AIS will support an upcoming workshop focused on advancing the transition of DARPA’s Assured Micropatching (AMP) technologies into the industrial control system (ICS) environments that power critical infrastructure across the nation. The workshop is designed to expose college students, National Laboratories and technology partners in power and water to the capabilities developed under the AMP program.

The AMP program developed tools that apply verified micropatches directly to executable binaries, enabling engineers and technicians to safely repair, enhance or instrument embedded systems without source code access. These tools have undergone extensive evaluation and maturation through AIS-led integration pipelines, resulting in high‑TRL, open and extensible capabilities that seamlessly align with real‑world operational workflows and can be deployed across complex, globally distributed environments.
During the workshop, participants will learn from subject matter experts how assured micropatches can be applied to industrial control systems supporting critical sectors such as energy and water. The AMP evaluation team led by AIS’s own Eric Thayer and Daniel Salloum will be on site to demonstrate the power and utility of the programs technology to partners interested in transitioning it into broader use across critical infrastructure and the defense industrial base. Researchers from the National Lab of the Rockies (NLR) will demonstrate AMP tool use in real energy‑system scenarios, while experts from Integer Tech and Idaho National Laboratory will teach foundational ICS communications and operational concepts ensuring attendees understand both the technology and its mission context. This hands‑on instruction complements AIS’s broader mission: to ensure that advanced cyber technologies are not only powerful in theory, but mission driven, transition‑ready and demonstrate measurable impact for operators who defend critical systems daily.


As the AMP evaluator, AIS helped define challenge problems, develop test scenarios, coordinate performer integration and create metrics and environments that validated solution correctness, safety, and operational suitability. These same integration principles are reflected in the workshop design: the tools demonstrated have been vetted through AIS‑built pipelines that verify patch behavior, ensure non‑interference with baseline functionality,and establish confidence in field deployment.
