Rian Quinn, PhD, is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at AIS. In this role, Quinn guides investments in people and technologies that position AIS for continued relevance and mission success in a constantly changing threat environment and rapidly evolving cybersecurity marketplace.
Prior to his current position, Quinn served as a Senior Principal Investigator, where he focused on trusted computing and hypervisor-related technologies. He has more than 14 years of experience in the following areas: hypervisor/kernel development, trusted computing, cybersecurity, covert communications, side channel attacks and machine learning. He also has 12 years of technical management and business development experience. Quinn is a co-founder and lead developer of the Bareflank Hypervisor and has contributed to several open source projects including Bareflank, Microsoft’s Guideline Support Library (GSL) and OpenXT.
Quinn has more than 20 years of experience programming in C, C++ and assembly, has four patents in trusted computing and has written and published two books on C++. He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering with specializations in Information Assurance and Computer Architectures from Binghamton University.
